About Us


Core Intro

The Department of Agricultural Machinery and Technology Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture at Akdeniz University was established in 1983 with the aim of contributing to and enhancing the agricultural structure and production of the region. It started its undergraduate program in the academic year 1996-1997. The department currently has a total of 9 academic staff members, including 6 professors, 1 associate professor, and 1 research assistants.

The Department focuses intensively on education, research, and development in the fields of Agricultural Machinery Engineering and Energy Use in Agriculture. In addition to undergraduate and graduate education, the department conducts research and experiments related to agricultural machinery. Moreover, it provides project and consultancy services to local producers.

Mission & Vision

The mission of the department is to generate advanced knowledge and technology in agricultural machinery and energy use in agriculture, meeting the national and international needs of the agricultural sector. It aims to educate qualified agricultural engineers equipped with knowledge of new agricultural technologies.

The department aims to carry out scientific research and development activities at the national and international levels regarding the design, manufacturing, development, operation, marketing, publication, education, and utilization of all kinds of agricultural machinery and power sources necessary for agricultural production mechanization. It strives to adapt new agricultural technologies to the country and regional conditions, cultivate creative and entrepreneurial agricultural engineers with sufficient professional knowledge and analytical thinking, and contribute to the development of the agricultural machinery industry and the level of mechanization in our country.
